A Troop 11 Charity Fundraiser Since 1972!

Started in 1972 as an Eagle project, by Hal Zecher Jr., the Annual Christmas Tree Pickup has become an Alameda tradition. Each year scouts span out over the island and collect Christmas trees for recycling. The money goes to our troop to fund troop activities and purchase needed equipment and gear. Supplementing the efforts of Alameda County Industries, trees recycled through Troop 11 & 73 are used for their essential oils by Juniper Ridge before being converted as mulch for local organizations.

Troop 11's traditional fundraiser, the Alameda Christmas Tree pickup, kicks off in late fall. Scouts start contacting long-time customers the week prior to Thanksgiving. You will also find us at locations across the island of Alameda during the holiday season.
